I cordially invite you to the 1st International Oncology Conference “Humanistic aspects of cancer care”, organized by the Nursing Department of the Health Care Department of the Academy of Applied Sciences in Tarnów.

The conference will take place on September 7, 2023. Participation in it is free of charge. It will be hybrid and you will be able to participate online. We invite you to actively participate. Qualified papers will be published in an e-monograph.

We have invited guests from abroad who will share their professional experiences with us.

The aim of the conference is to disseminate knowledge in the field of a modern clinic, cancer treatment, prognosis depending on the stage of the disease, but above all to show the process of illness and recovery as a path that, although often medically difficult, thanks to a holistic approach to the treatment process and the involvement not only specialists from various areas, but also the patient himself and his relatives, may turn out to be easier to deal with.

The organized conference aims to draw attention to the need to provide oncological patients and their families with psychological care from the moment of diagnosis, the need to equip students of medical and paramedical faculties with the ability to communicate with oncological patients and their relatives, the ability to recognize the patient’s needs and adjust the ways of informing about the disease and methods of treatment to the psychophysical state of the patient and motivating to cooperate. Topics related to occupational therapy and oncological rehabilitation will also be discussed.

Therefore, I cordially invite people interested in the subject of our conference, medics of oncology and non-oncology departments, nurses, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, dieticians, social workers.
